Notice for Aylook-Servers running software prior to version 9.2

October 28, 2026

Dear Customer,

Cyber threats are evolving rapidly, and all systems connected to the Internet are now potential targets. Aylook devices are no exception.

Aylooks running software versions prior to 9.2 that use Aycloud (Aycloud-Pro) servers and allow you to view cameras and manage your security system from your smartphone, can no longer be considered adequately protected.

Of course, Aylook devices that cannot be accessed via the Internet are not at risk, except in the case of unauthorised access from within the same LAN network.

If you cannot or do not want to update your Aylook (along with its ASC and APP ‘clients’), you can still continue to use the Aycloud services, whilst being aware that your operations cannot be considered secure.

What should you do straight away?

Configure the alarm control panel so that it does not accept deactivation commands from Aylook.

What will change from 5 November 2026?

Aycloud services will continue to operate as usual. However, when connected to systems that have not been updated, the AylookApp will display a warning regarding the risk of login credentials being ‘sniffed’ and will ask you to confirm that you have taken note of this risk.

By confirming, the Customer acknowledges that – in the event of an incident – Anteklab srl cannot be held liable.

What is the solution?

The minimum solution is to update your Aylook and its accessories to version 9.2.

In the past, updating was only possible for Aylook Series 8 devices, but this will no longer be the case within a few weeks.

Antek has recently produced a ‘coprocessor’ that enables even older Aylook devices to achieve the same performance as newer models. The upgrade will be cost-effective and straightforward; it will not even require you to send the unit to the Anteklab laboratory.

For further information, please email: update@aylook.com quoting the product code and serial number shown on the label affixed to the underside of the unit.

SUMMARY:

  1. If you are unable or unwilling to update your Aylook server straight away, you will continue to use the services as usual, running a risk of an incident which Anteklab assesses as moderate, but not zero.
  2. The Aylook app on your smartphone will continue to work as usual, but it will warn you of the risk you are running.
  3. Thanks to new accessories, your old Aylook could function just like the latest models and benefit from the newest extended features we are now giving you a sneak preview of.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What limitations will Aylook have if it is not updated to version 9.2?

None, apart from the fact that around a hundred ‘bugs’ in previous versions of the software will not be fixed, and that diagnostic tools enabling the customer to be informed of the nature of any errors will not be available.

2. What happens if the customer does not sign the indemnity agreement?

It is not necessary for the customer to sign any indemnity agreement. It is sufficient for them to be informed of the risks involved and to take the appropriate precautions, starting with ensuring that the alarm control unit cannot be disabled by Aylook.

It is, however, possible that in the near future customers may find themselves cut off from Aycloud services until they have updated their Aylook.

3. Will Aylooks that cannot be updated stop working sooner or later?

No, but they may experience operational limitations.

4. What happens to those that cannot be updated?

This is a fairly remote possibility, especially given the ‘coprocessor’ option, which will be released in the coming weeks and will allow even older Aylook devices to be updated.

5. Will it still be possible to use the app if you don’t update it?

Yes. But without the security measures we consider necessary.

6. If an Aylook isn’t connected to an alarm control panel, is it still at risk, or does this not apply to that Aylook?

Only the Aylook itself is at risk of being hacked…

7. Will there be a push notification on the app?

Yes, ‘push notifications’ have not changed and will not change.

8. By when does the update need to be carried out?

Everyone can carry out the update whenever they like; of course, in the meantime, they must bear in mind that they are exposed to some risk of cyberattacks.

9. Version 9.2 is not publicly available for download: will it be? Will customers be able to update from 9.1 to 9.2 themselves, or do they always have to go through our support service?

The update will have to be carried out autonomously.

We are temporarily channelling requests for technical support to customers (Mattia) in order to identify and promptly fix the inevitable ‘bugs’ that every new software release brings with it.

10. If protection has been implemented for Aylook 9.x, why not do the same for Aylook 8.x, even if it’s a paid service?

This is something that could potentially be done, although it doesn’t seem reasonable to us, given that every Aylook will soon be upgradeable, also thanks to the ‘coprocessor’.

11. The 5th of November is too soon; nothing can be done in such a short space of time.

Anteklab will not be interrupting any services on the 5th of November.

Anteklab will simply issue a necessary warning: that older versions of Aylook can no longer be considered secure and must be updated to v. 9.2.
